Autumn Holiday at Korkeasaari Zoo

Watch the animals go about their activities in the fresh autumn air, admire the vibrant colours of the foliage and take part in the holiday programme during the Helsinki metropolitan area schools’ autumn holiday 10–18 October.

Opening hours

Korkeasaari Zoo’s Autumn Holiday 10–18 October 2026 is packed with things to see and do with animals both big and small. During the Helsinki metropolitan area autumn holiday week, the zoo is open for extended hours from 10 am to 6 pm – welcome to an autumn adventure on the island of animals!

Admission tickets

The autumn holiday programme is included in the regular admission ticket to Korkeasaari Zoo. You can also visit the zoo with a valid annual pass. Tickets can be purchased either from the online shop (the zoo’s advance ticket is valid for 30 days from the time of purchase) or at the zoo’s ticket office.

In addition to the engaging, guided feedings, the autumn holiday programme gives you the chance to get up close with insects. Get to know bugs hour is held daily during the autumn holiday in the foyer of the Amazonia tropical house.

The bravest ones may even get to pet a cockroach!

Tropical guided tour

Join a free guided tour in the Amazonia tropical house and learn more about Korkeasaari Zoo’s tropical residents. During the autumn holiday, this fascinating guided tour departs daily from the foyer of the Amazonia building.
