Giant day gecko
Phelsuma grandis
The tree-climbing giant day geckos originate from Madagascar and enjoy spending time in pairs. In breeding season the colourful males are being territorial against their rivals. The female lays a few litters, having 1 to 2 eggs in each. A few centimeters long miniature geckos hatch from these after a while. Giant day geckos are also kept as pets. The species is also known as the Malagasy day gecko.
