Grass snake

The non-venomous grass snake can be identified by often yellowish neck pots. Grass snake is bigger than viper and also quicker to slip away. Grass snake may empty the smelly content of its anal glands when threatened. If that fails to work, the snake acts dead by laying on its back and letting the tongue hang out.

A grass snake female lays 10–40 eggs to a moist warm place like compost, dunghill or a pile of kelp on seashore.
