Tram services to Korkeasaari Zoo begin

The tram stop at Korkeasaari will finally open this coming Saturday, 7 November, at 10 am, when the new tram lines 11 and 12 begin operating. The opening celebrations at Korkeasaari will start at 9 am, and the first tram to cross the Kruunuvuori Bridge will depart from Korkeasaari at 10 am. There will also be activities open to everyone in Kruunuvuorenranta, Yliskylä and at Hakaniemi Market Square.

“We have been eagerly looking forward to this new tram connection, which will make getting to Korkeasaari Zoo so much easier. As the number of people passing through the area increases significantly, even more people will remember that Korkeasaari Zoo is open all year round. Our new entrance building is open to everyone, making it a natural meeting place. Travelling by tram is also a great fit with Korkeasaari Zoo’s values, as it promotes sustainable mobility,” says Sanna Hellström, CEO of Korkeasaari Zoo, who will join the celebratory first tram journey departing from Korkeasaari.

To celebrate the launch of the tram services, we are offering a €7 discount on day tickets purchased at the zoo ticket office from 7 to 26 November 2026. The discount is equivalent to the price of an AB-zone return tram ticket (€7). Read more about the offer below!
