
Giant spiny stick insect
Eurycantha calcarata
The giant spiny stick insect resembles a piece of tree bark. It is dark brown in its adult form but greenish when young. The male is smaller than the female, and has sharp spurs in its femurs for defending itself. A kick from the spurs may cause a painful wound even for a human.
