Giant hooded katytid

The giant hooded katytid, also known as the giant bush cricket, looks like a leaf and is one of the largest species of bush crickets. Bush crickets have much longer antennae than grasshoppers. They are excellent jumpers and can fly short distances.

Young giant hooded katytids look like miniature adults, but have no wings. They become fully grown early, at the age of three months.
