The Taiwan beauty rat snake is a large nonvenomous snake that tends to stay in hiding. It is a quick and agile snake that is equally at home on the ground and up in trees and shrubs. The Taiwan beauty rat snake lays eggs that produce hatchlings about 30–40 cm in length. The snake is active both at night and in the daytime.
The snake living at Korkeasaari Zoo is a former pet that has been donated to the zoo.
