Korkeasaari Zoo offers a wide range of services to the media, making it easier to communicate the zoo's activities and conservation work. Press releases and current news provide information on both conservation projects and zoo events, and our image bank offers high-resolution footage for editorial use. We also offer the opportunity to interview our experts.

Visits and interviews

We are happy to receive journalists, but all visits must be arranged in advance: a press card does not automatically give you access to the zoo. Communication Specialist Mari Lehmonen can help you organise media visits and interviews: mari.lehmonen@korkeasaari.fi.

Please note that Korkeasaari Zoo’s zookeepers work on a shift basis, so due to overlapping shifts, it may take longer than normal to arrange zookeeper interviews.

Rights of use for photos and videos

Photographs and videos provided with the press releases are always free to be used to illustrate stories about Korkeasaari Zoo. Please always cite the name of the photographer and Korkeasaari Zoo as the source.

Our communications team films most of our events that go beyond the news threshold, and our archives contain footage of both the animals and the zoo over the years. This material is available free of charge to illustrate stories about Korkeasaari Zoo and its animals. For non-journalistic use, we charge a fee according to the purpose of use.
